HOW DOES THE PRICING WORK FOR BASIC FIREARM TRAINING?

There are currently 4 Unit standards available for basic firearm training:

  • Unit Standard 119649 Handle and Use a Handgun
  • Unit Standard 119650 Handle and Use a Self-Loading Rifle or Carbine
  • Unit Standard 119651  Handle and Use a Manually Operated Rifle or Carbine
  • Unit Standard 119652 Handle and Use a Shotgun

There is currently 1 Unit standard available for Knowledge of the Firearm Control Act 60 of 2000:

  • Unit Standard 117705 Demonstrate Knowledge of the Firearm Control Act 60 of 2000

Chose your Unit standard for basic firearm training as required:

  • 1 Unit Standard can be any Unit Standard for, example, Handgun 
  • 2 Unit Standards can be any Unit Standard for, example, Handgun or any  1 of the other unit standards.
  • 3 Unit Standards can be any Unit Standard for, example, Handgun or any 2 of the other unit standards.
  • 4 Unit Standards can be any Unit Standard for, example, Handgun or any 3 of the other unit standards.

When is Unit Standard 117705  Knowledge of the Firearm Control Act 60 of 2000 compulsory? 

  • If it is the applicant’s first time enrolling for any of the basic firearm proficiency courses.

When is Unit Standard 117705  Knowledge of the Firearm Control Act 60 of 2000 not compulsory? 

  • When the applicant has completed any of the above basic courses and Unit Standard 117705  (Knowledge of the Firearm Control Act 60 of 2000.)

HOW DOES THE PRICING WORK FOR BUSINESS PURPOSE FIREARM TRAINING?

There are currently 4 Unit standards available for business purpose firearm training:

  • Unit Standard 123515 Handle and Use a Handgun
  • Unit Standard 123511 Handle and Use a Self-Loading Rifle or Carbine
  • Unit Standard 123519 Handle and Use a Manually Operated Rifle or Carbine
  • Unit Standard  123514 Handle and Use a Shotgun

Chose your Unit standard for business firearm training as required:

  • 1 Unit Standard can be any business purposes, Unit Standard, for example, Handgun 
  • 2 Unit Standards can be any business purposes, Unit Standard, for example, Handgun or any  1 of the other unit standards.
  • 3 Unit Standards can be any business purposes Unit Standard, such as Handgun or any 2 of the other unit standards.
  • 4 Unit Standards can be any business Unit Standard for example Handgun or any 3 of the other unit standards.

To enroll for business purposes training, the following proficiency courses need to be in place:

  • Unit Standard 117705 Demonstrate Knowledge of the Firearm Control Act 60 of 2000
  • The applicant cant enroll for business purposes course if He/She hasn’t completed a similar course in basic training, for example, to enroll for business purposes Unit Standard 123515 (Handle and Use a Handgun for Business Purposes) the applicant must show proof that He/She has completed Unit Standard 119649 (Handle and Use a Handgun)
